Gilbert Stafford

Gilbert "Gib" Stafford, 80, of Monroe City, passed away at 5:20 a.m. January 9, 2013 at Lodge of the Wabash.He was born May 29, 1932 in Knox County, Indiana to Blake and Mable (Goodwin) Stafford.Gib was a farmer and a member of the Hamline Chapel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed going to the Blue Jean Center to play Euchre.Surviving are four children, Connie and Larry McCallister of Brownsburg, Charlotte and Monty Hayes of Brownsburg, Mark and Debby Stafford of Vincennes, and Matt and Carmen Stafford of Monroe City.; two brothers, Allen and Doyle Stafford both of Wheatland, along with 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.Proceeding in death were his parents, his wife, Norma (Frederick) Stafford, and a brother, Merlin Stafford.Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Brenda Wick officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamline Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service time Saturday.
