Gladys Longest

Gladys Marie LongestShe is survived by her niece, Judy Jo (Yount) Hartz and husband Art of Bridgeport, Illinois, who was her caregiver and POA, a great nephew, Rusty Joe Hartz and wife Michelle of Lawrenceville and a great great niece, Allisha Nicole Hartz; great niece Heidi Michelle (Hartz) Sutherlin and husband Stephen of Bridgeport and their plus six foster children. She was preceded in death by her father Henry H. Rose who was born December 15, 1890 and passed away November 12, 1969, her mother, Rosie K. (Seals) Rose who was born October 15, 1895 and died November 10, 1977; her sisters, Mrs. Edith M. (Joseph) Yount , Mrs Dorothy (Jim) McKenzie, Mrs Daisy (Mike) Osha, Mrs. Ethel (Cecil) Read, and Miss Mary Rose, a brother, Thomas Rose. Her brother Dr. Virgil J. Rose and his wife Connie of Colorado are still living. Her husband, Charles F. Longest , whom she married May 19, 1945, whom died January 19, 1981 and was previous pastor and employee of Central State Hospital in Indianapolis, two sons, Paul David Longest passed away September 16, 2004 ; survived by Michael Joseph Longest and wife Jean of Longmont Colorado. Grandchildren include Rev. Aaragon Markwell and wife Malinda of South Bend, Washington, Steven Rollings and wife Michelle of Longmont, Colorado, Cassandra Hay and husband James of Longmont Colorado, and Brian Longest of Firestone Colorado; Great grandchildren include Josiah Markwell, Alathia Markwell, Sophia Markwell of South Bend Washington, Kalynn, Vienna, Emma, and Jack of Colorado. She was a resident of Gentle Care Nursing Home and formally of 600 Nicholas Street in Vincennes, and was born April 27, 1923 in Vincennes, Indiana. Gladys was a housewife, a member of the Penecostal church, and her hobbies were reading the bible and singing. Gladys passed away on July 15, 2012 at 3:33 a.m. Indiana time. Visitation will be from 9-11a.m. E.D.T on Thursday at Goodwin Funeral Home. Per her request a graveside service will be held at 11:15 on Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery.
