Grant Eugene Fields, 86, passed away at 8:10 pm on October 15, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Grant was born on November 27, 1926 in Knox County the son of Ollie Trueblood and Vada Marie (Nash) Fields. He married Patricia Lois Tewell on January 13, 1945 and she preceded him in death on April 10, 1995. He then married Ruth Virginia Ott Nead and she survives.Grant had worked at Blackford Window Glass and PCA. Grant served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren.Surviving are his wife, Ruth Fields of Vincennes; son, Larry Eugene Fields and his wife Maryjane of Wheatland; daughter, Sandra Kay (Fields) Hatton and her husband George Michael of Bruceville; son, Paul Lemuel Fields and his wife Denise Annette of Greenwood; son, Ollie Franklin Fields and wife Lisa Ann of Vincennes; step-son, Dr. Morris James Nead and his wife Karen of Vincennes; step-son, Rev. Melvin Ray Nead and his wife Janice of Bloomington; step-daughter, Pamela Kay Kiser of Bedford, IN; sister Rose Bates of Bossier City, LA; eleven grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Grant was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Alberta Fields and Olive Marie Brown and half sister, Estelle Fields.Funeral services for Grant will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin Ray Nead officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The All Weather Firing Squad will conduct military rites at the gravesite. Friends may visit with Grant's family from 12:00 pm until the hour of service time of 2:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent at www.goodwinfamilyfh.com.
