Gregory Mains

Gregory Stephen Mains, a devoted husband, loving father, and esteemed military veteran, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024, in his hometown of Vincennes, IN. Born on April 30, 1953, Greg spent 31 dedicated years at Hamilton Glass/Gemtron and served his country with honor for 21 years in the US Army.

Throughout his life, Greg shared 51 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Vicki, whom he cherished deeply.

Besides his professional accomplishments, Greg was a man of many talents. His hands could mend anything, and he took pride in fixing whatever came his way. An adventurous soul, he found solace in riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, and tending to his garden. An avid collector of guns, Greg had a keen eye for craftsmanship and enjoyed sharing his passions with those around him.

Gregory is survived by his children, Lora Purcell and Darren Mains (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Jayden Purcell, Landen Purcell, Chase Mains, and Ellie Mains; brothers, David Mains (Jackie) and Doug Mains (Valerie); sister, Lisa Garrett (Marty); and many nieces and nephews. Gregory is preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Mains; his parents, David Mains Sr. and Mary (Walton) Mains; and brother, Mark Mains.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Trevor Murry will officiate.
