Gwendolyn Margaret VanVleet, 93, of Marion, IN, formerly of Vincennes, passed away 0n February 16, 2012 at Marion General Hospital in Marion, Indiana. Gwendolyn was born on May 2, 1918 in Wheatland the daughter of Mark and Maude (Robinson) Knight. She married Earl VanVleet, Jr. in August of 1943 and he preceded her in death on August 21, 2011.Gwendolyn was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 50 years where she was the former President of the United Methodist Women and most recently attended Mt. Olive Methodist Church in Marion. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #291 and enjoyed sewing and quilting. During WW II she worked at a factory in Salt Lake City, UT packing cookies and she also worked briefly for the Vincennes University bookstore. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Hensley of Marion, IN; sister Jacqueline Rose Hall of Texas; and brother, Kyle (Bill) Knight of Vincennes. Preceding Gwendolyn in death were her daughter, Nancy Ann VanVleet; son David Michael VanVleet and brother, Marquis
