Gwynavere Morton

March 25, 1941 — April 27, 2024

Gwynavere Morton, of Washington, IN, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024, at the age of 83 at Daviess Community Hospital. She was born in Washington, IN on March 25, 1941, to her loving parents, Maurice E. Corn and Hallie P. (Vowell) Corn.


Gwyn was known for her creativity and passion for arranging flowers, crafting, gardening, and capturing moments through photography. She had a special love for hummingbirds, finding joy in feeding and watching them. She loved her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with them any chance she had.


She worked as a custodian for Washington Community Schools for nearly thirty years before her retirement. Shortly after retiring, she went back to work at Washington Community Schools, this time in the cafeteria.


Survivors of Gwyn include her daughter, Theresa Breeden of Washington, IN; her grandchildren, William (Tony) Breeden of Washington, IN, Corbin (Natalia) Breeden of Oakland City, IN, and Claudia Cheyenne Carrico of Washington, IN; great-grandchildren, Levi Breeden, Elijah Breeden, and Phoenix Breeden; and her brother, Jim (Rita) Corn of Jasper, IN, and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Morton; her parents, Maurice and Hallie; and her brothers, Don Chandler and Bob Chandler.


Visitation for Gwyn will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 3:00-6:00pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. A memorial service will follow immediately following visitation beginning at 6:00 pm. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
