Harlan Noel Magruder, Jr., 84, passed away on July 21, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Harlan was born March 4, 1938, in Henderson, KY to the late Harlan Noel, Sr. and Mary Ann (Trible) Magruder. He graduated from Vincennes Lincoln High School in 1957 and served in the United States Air Force until 1961. After completing his military service, Harlan continued to have a successful career and retired from Crane Naval Weapons Depot in 1993. Harlan was actively involved in the Boy Scouts and served as a beloved Scoutmaster for Troop 273 in Vincennes. He was also a lifelong Freemason and was just recently recognized for fifty years of membership and dedication at the Vincennes lodge. Harlan loved the outdoors, whether it was spent playing golf, fishing, or traveling around the country in the RV with his loving partner of 23 years, Judy. He made friends easily, and always had a great story to tell. His true passion in retirement was his woodworking. From Santa Claus to walking sticks and everything in between, there was no project too big (or too small) for Harlan! Harlan is survived by his sister, Ann Anderson of Kennewick, WA; his sons Steve Magruder (Beth) of Evansville, IN and Tim Magruder (Karen) of Vincennes, IN, and daughter-in-law Lucy Magruder of Vincennes, IN; his grandchildren Peyton Magruder Broadhurst (Nate) of Ogden, UT, Ryan Magruder of Denver, CO, Nick Magruder of Evansville, IN, Matthew Magruder of Evansville, IN, Brent Magruder of Vincennes, IN, Joshua Magruder of Vincennes, IN; great grandchildren Aspen Broadhurst, Sophia Magruder, and Hunter Magruder; stepsons Bill Kesler (Connie) and Terry Kesler (Lulu). Harlan is preceded in death by his parents; his son David Magruder; his wife Judy; and the mother of his children Marilyn Magruder. Visitation will be held at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home at 1:00pm on Sunday July 31st, with services at 3:00pm.
