Harold W. Kirk, 93, of Vincennes, passed away Sept. 19, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Petersburg, IN.He was the owner of Kirk Construction Company. Harold was a member of the First Christian Church, TPA, American Legion #73, VFW, the Lions Club, Elks #291, and the Old Timers Club. He had served as treasurer for the Vincennes City Cemetery Board. During WWII, Harold served on the USS Nashville.The son of George and Hattie (Williams) Kirk, he was born on August 16, 1920, in Vincennes. Harold had been married to Betty (Hankins) Kirk, who passed away June 9, 1995, and then married Mary Kirk. Other family members are his children, Sandra (Herb) Brocksmith of Vincennes, Penny Lynn Kirk of Washington, IN, Mark (Jian) Kirk of Bartonsville, PA, and Jeffrey (Janice) Kirk of Fairview, TN, and the grandchildren, Brian Brocksmith, Cathy Ellingwood, Kelsey Kirk, Ian Kirk, Christopher Kirk, and Nicholas Kirk. He has one living sister, Dorothy Perry of Vincennes, and two sisters and 4 brothers that passed away before him. There are also four great-grandchildren.A graveside service will be conducted at Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, at 10:30. Calling hours will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 on Sunday at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
