Harold Smith

Harold Z. "Hap" Smith, 96, passed away April 28, 2013, at the Lodge of the Wabash. Hap had worked as an accountant for Miller & Co. He was an Army veteran, and a member of the First Christian Church. The son of Carl and Mary Smith, he was born June 20, 1915 in Princeton, IN. Along with his parents, Hap was preceded by his wife, Norma (Brown) Smith; a daughter, Susie Smith; his sons, Mike and Jerry Smith; a sister, Stella Barrett; and his brothers, Bob, Bill, and Don Smith. Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Kathy Smith of Vincennes; a brother, Tom Smith of Princeton, IN; grandchildren, Wendy Smith of Vincennes, Chad (Krista) Smith of Newburgh, IN, Sarah (Steve) Hess, and Brian Smith, both of Vincennes; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00-1:00 EDT on Thursday, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 at the funeral home. A graveside committal service will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Williams Syndrome Association in honor of his great-grandson, Roy Smith.
