Harriett Pittman

Harriett Evelyn Pittman, 99, of Avon, IN, and formerly of Decker, IN, passed away October 29, 2018, at IU Health West Hospital in Avon, IN.Harriett had worked at Richardson Rubber Co. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary #1157, the American Legion Auxiliary Post #73, the Moose Lodge #518, the Eagles #1872, and the AFL-CIO #294.Harriett was born September 28, 1919, in Decker, IN, the daughter of Noah and Artie (Hanover) Seals. Her parents; her husband, Beryl Pittman, who passed away August 23, 1996; her children, Ruth Evelyn Johnson, Harold Eugene Pittman, Luetta Mae Shipley, Velma Sue Baugh, and Judith Diane Lane; her sisters, Edna Seals, Fern Tapley, Mildred Seals, and Sarah O'Connor; and her brothers, Noah Seals, Jr and Earl "Curly" Seals preceded her.Surviving are her children, Carl Pittman of Savannah, GA, James Pittman of Cumberland, IN, Roger Pittman of Indianapolis, IN, and Faye Wood of Indianapolis, IN; her sister, Jean Neighbors of Vincennes, IN; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.Friends may visit with Harriett's family from 10:00 - 2:00 Friday, at Goodwin Funeral Home.
