Helen Bland

Helen Helms Bland, 102 passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Richland-Beanblossom Health Care Center in Ellettsville, IN. Helen was born on September 3, 1910 in Bloomfield, Indiana the daughter of Euen and Bessie (Nation) Helms. She married Randolph D. Bland and he preceded her in death in 1996. Helen lived most of her long life in Vincennes before moving to the Richland-Beanblossom Health Care Center in March, 2009 to be closer to family. Helen worked at the White Kitchen Restaurant for twenty-one years. She attendeded the First Church of God. She is survivied by her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Steve Stone of Bloomington, IN, five grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Sue and Ron Dukes. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Hurston and Harrel Helms. Graveside services will be held at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Georg Karl officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. On line condolences may be sent at www.goodwinfamilyfh.com.
