Helen Courter

Helen L. Courter, 91 passed away at 10:50 am on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Bridgepointe Health Campus. Helen was born on September 1, 1922 in St. Francisville, IL the daughter of Herman C. and Violet (Hershey) Hutchinson. Helen married Dale W. Courter on August 24, 1939 and he preceded her in death on December 31, 2010.Helen was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Civitan, Order of Eastern Star, D.A.R. White Shrine and Daughters of Nile.Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Calvert of Vincennes; son, Steven Courter of Sullivan, IN; sister, Jeane Mayhall of St. Francisville, IL; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Sharon Urquhart and one sister, Martha Johnson.Funeral services for Helen will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Brent Courter her grandson officiating.
