Helen Fields

Helen Jo Ann Fields, 75 of Crane , passed away on June 29, 2014 at home surrounded by her loved ones. Helen was born on March 16, 1939 in Lawrenceville, IL, the daughter of John and Grace (Loudermilk) Armstrong. She married Donald Roach who proceeded her in death on June 5, 1993. She then married Jackie Fields on October 2, 1999 and he survives. She and her children feel blessed to have both of these men in their lives. Jo Ann had many special friends and was the life of the party, she enjoyed planning events and sharing her zest for life with all that knew her. Her grandkids thought their Grammy roped the moon and now she does. She is survived by her husband Jackie Fields; daughters, Tammy Smith and her husband Everett, Linda Folks and her husband Kevin, Mary Jo Gentry and her husband Jay, and Nichole Gutierrez and her husband Antonio; sons, Tom Fields and wife Theresa, Greg Roach and his wife Dixie; Step daughters, Lea Ann Roach and Stacey Chambers, Twenty six grandchildren and six great grandchildren with more to come; She is also survived by her sister Wanda Laslie, and brother; Merle Armstrong brother in law Bob Walton, and nieces and nephews. Helen was proceeded in death by her parents, her first husband Donald Roach, son, Scott Roach, grandson, Jeffery Graham, brother John Armstrong, and sisters, Sarah Valdez and Mary Cardinal. Funeral services for Helen will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday July 2, 2014 at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main Street with Rev. Delbert Stoll officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Helen's family from 10:00 am until service time of 1:00 pm.
