Helen J. Haaff, 84, of Lawrenceville, II. passed away on Sat, Sept 8, 2018. Born on December 30, 1933, she was the daughter of Harold and Marie Frederick of Decker, IN. Helen was a 1951 graduate of Decker High School and married Charles Haaff Sept. 25, 1951. She was a current member of United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville and former member of Decker United Methodist Church. For many years she volunteered as a Pink Lady at Good Samaritan Hospital. An avid bowler at Creole Lanes and Fort Sackville and coach for the junior bowlers. She was a lifelong member of the Lower Johnson Homemakers Club. A devoted member of the Lawrenceville Senior Center. Helen was a kind and loving mother, wonderful Grandma and Nana. A heart of gold and always a true friend. Known as the "Cookie Lady" at the Frenchtown apts and Senior citizens center. She loved to bake, quilt and volunteer any time and where ever she could. Helen is survived by her sons, Richard Haaff (Diane Cardinal). Brian Haaff (Marlena) both of Vincennes. Daughters Kathy Hartigan of Decker and Karen Haaff of Lawrenceville, II. Brother Bob Frederick (Barb) of Decker. several grand and great grandchildren, And her special fur baby, Molly. She was preceded in death by husband Charles, son Steve, grandson Daniel Smith, and brother Harold (Preach) Frederick. The family will have a Celebration of Life Service on Sept 19 at the Senior Citizens Center at 1705 12 St. in Lawrenceville, IL from 1-5 CST. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be given to the Senior citizens center. Goodwin Funeral Home is honored to assist the Haaff family with arrangements.
