Helen Julian

Helen J. Julian, 84, of Vincennes passed away Saturday August 16, 2014 at the Greenwood Community South Hospital. She was born in Freelandville on January 31, 1930 to Noble and Esther (Schroeder) Fox.Helen spent much of her career as a computer programmer at Crane Naval Base. She was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother. A member of the First United Methodist Church, she was an avid bridge player, and enjoyed gardening, genealogy, and sewing in which she was a Knox County reserve grand champion. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society in which she was a multiple survivor.Surviving are her children, Sara Julian of Alameda, CA, Christine Jordan and her husband Mark of Zionsville, and Fred Julian of Walnut Creek, CA; her sister, Mary Roberson of Florida, and her brothers, Byron Wood of Florida and Milton Fox; and her grandchildren, Ben and Dean DeBaltzo.Preceding her in death were her brothers, Harry Fox, Jim Wood, and Bruce Fox.A Celebration of Helen's Life will be held on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. August 21, 2014 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Wagner officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
