Helen Mowery

Helen Mae Mowery, 86, passed away at 12:16 am on April 13, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Helen was born on January 7, 1933 in Knox County to Joe and Helen (Zeabart) Cardinal. She married Rex Mowery on November 4, 1952 and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1992.Helen was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Helen devoted her life to her husband and children.Survivors include her children, Kim Byrne and her husband Rick of Waynesville, OH, Karla Wade and her husband Mark of Hazleton, IN, Rex Mowery and his devoted friend Maria Venturini of Evansville, IN; sister, Patty Gwaltney of Petersburg, IN; brothers, Jerry Cardinal and his wife Cookie of Bruceville, IN, Steve Cardinal and his wife Debbie of Bruceville, IN; her grandchildren, Matthew Byrne and his wife Julie, Sarah Appel and her husband Jeff, Michael Byrne, Ryan Wade, Nathan Wade; great grandchildren, Makaelyn Appel, Brooklyn Appel and Maggie, Sophie and Joseph Byrne. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rex Mowery, son, Charles Joseph Mowery, brother, Bob Cardinal and grandson Adrien Mowery.Friends may visit with Helen's family on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2004 N. 2nd St., Vincennes, IN from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm at the church with Rev. Simon Natha officiating. Helen will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
