Helen Newell, 92, of Vincennes, passed away at Oak Village, in Oaktown, IN, on March 29, 2015.Helen had worked as the receptionist for Dr. Charles Hendrix, Sr. A member of First Christian Church and Elks, she enjoyed playing bridge and golfing. During WWII, she worked at the aircraft plant in Evansville, producing P-47's.Born March 5, 1923, in Iona, IN, she was the daughter of Royse and Lauren (Kensler) Turbett. Her parents; her husband, Robert M. Newell; and a sister, Irma Johnson, preceded her.Surviving is her sister, Betty Wonning, of Vincennes; a brother, Darwin Turbett of Vincennes; and several nieces and nephews and great - nieces and nephews.The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, at 2:00, at the First Christian Church, 319 Broadway. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 - 2:00 on Thursday, at the church. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
