Helen Welton

Helen Elizabeth Welton, 97, formerly of Vincennes, passed away at 9:35 am Friday, May 6, 2011 at Southwood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Terre Haute.She was born May 27, 1913 in Decker Chapel, Indiana to Homer and Iva (Lee) Reed.Helen was the manager for the Indiana License Branch in Vincennes and had worked for Gimbel Bond and Snyder Trucking. She attended the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the Welton Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star # 291 for many years.Surviving is a daughter, Linda McIntosh of Terre Haute, two daughter in laws, Mary Welton of Vincennes, and Anna Welton of North Vernon, 8 grandchildren, Susan and Chris Strot of Terre Haute, Tom and Penny Kotter of Farmersburg Patrick and Rene Kotter of Indianapolis, Brian and Terri Welton of Atlanta, Dan & Dana Welton of Vincennes, Sondra Welton of Indianapolis, Steve and Cindy Martin of North Vernon, and Scott Martin of North Vernon. Also surviving are several great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Goss Welton in 1990, and two sons, Max Welton, and Gerry Welton, three sisters and two brothers.Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. David Parman officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from Noon until the service time Tuesday.
