Henrietta Watkins

Henrietta Elizabeth (Ford) Watkins, 90 of 1811 Watson Avenue, passed away at 5:53 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Henrietta was born on January 20, 1922 in Hillsboro, IL the daughter of Aaron Franklin and Corrina (Walls) Ford. Henrietta was a member of the First Church of God and had worked in the housekeeping department at Vincennes University. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting and quilting. Survivors include her children, daughter, Cynthia Mattox of Princeton, IN; son, Allen Watkins, of Washington, IN; daughter, Mary Garrard, of Vincennes; daughter, Rosetta Watkins of Vincennes; son Julius Watkins of Vincennes; daughter, Candis Watkins of Vincennes; daughter, Sarah Weber, of Vincennes; daughter, Delores Weber of Vincennes; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Preceding Henrietta in death were her son, Aaron Watkins, and 9 sisters and brothers.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2012 at the First Church of God with the Rev. Georg Karl officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wabash Valley Christian Academy.
