Henry Melvin

Henry J. "Hank" Melvin, 88, passed away at 11:00 pm on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Hank was born on January 26, 1927 in Knox County the son of Levi and Minnie (McKnight) Melvin.Hank retired from Prestolite Battery Factory and was an avid reader and enjoyed walking. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.Survivors include his son, Jerry Melvin and his wife Jane of Vincennes; daughter, Patty McNeece and her husband Jerry of Vincennes; companion, Elaine Haag of Vincennes; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Hank was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Vivian "Tince" Daughtery, Lillian "Billie" Dustin; twin brother, Joseph "Joe" Melvin, brothers, James "Mack" Melvin, Kenneth "Jack" Melvin, and Allen "Ad" Melvin.A memorial service will be held for Hank at the annual Melvin reunion in June at Shoals, IN.
