Hilda Purcell

Hilda L. Purcell, 87, of Vincennes, IN, passed away September 23, 2018, at Colonial Assisted Living.Hilda was born August 21, 1931, in Knox County, IN, to Clarence and Elenora (Oexmann) Hacker. She was baptized August 29, 1931, at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Hilda was a graduate of Decker High School. She and her husband, Usona, founded and operated Purcell Garden Center.Surviving are her sisters, Julia Agee and her husband, Larry, of Terre Haute, IN, and Faye Hess and her husband, Tom, of Vincennes, IN; her brothers, Delbert Hacker and his wife, Mary, of Vincennes, IN, and Marvin Hacker and his wife, Donna, of Vincennes, IN; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.Preceding her were her parents, her husband, Usona Purcell and a sister, Vernelda Ellermann.Friends may visit with Hilda's family from 4:00 - 7:00 on Wednesday, at Goodwin Funeral Home. The funeral will be conducted on Thursday, at 10:30, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Upper Indiana Cemetery.Donations may be made to the Upper Indiana Cemetery Fund.
