Hursey Hopper

Hursey A. Hopper, of Washington, IN, passed away Oct. 8, 2011 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Jasper. Hursey was a member of the Washington Central Christian Church. She had worked as a sales lady at F.W. Woolworth, and then worked at US Rubber. Born Aug. 5, 1916, she was the daughter of Fred & Clara (Pershing) Byrer. Her parents preceded her, as well as 2 brothers, Floyd & Aldo. Surviving are her daughters, Virginia Louise (David) Youngs of Jasper, and Janet (Frank) Malone of New Albany; a sister, Verta Sims of Evansville, IN; a brother, Lee Byrer of Phoenix, AZ; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Goodwin Funeal Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN, at 10:30 EST. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 2:;00 - 7:00.
