Ilarose Abrassart

April 3, 1926 — April 20, 2024

We the family, with deep sadness and sorrow, lost our Mother and Nana, Ilarose Abrassart. She left this life that she loved to be with Jesus and her loved ones in Heaven on April 20, 2024. Ila was a very young 98 and a beautiful person. Her presence will always be on earth, because her presence made this earth a better place. She was born in Glendale, California and later moved to Oaktown, Indiana and to live her life. She attended and graduated from Cosmetology school in Indianapolis where she met the love of her life, Elmer (Al) L. Abrassart and were married in 1947. They lived their lives together having a son Bradley and 2 daughters, Debbie and Renee, until his death on November 26, 1995.

She loved her life, loved her children, and grandson, Abe, loving him with every bone in her body. He was the light of her life. She devoted her life to her children and grandson. She was a selfless person, thinking of everyone but herself. Ila was a very talented lady. She was an artist, enjoyed oil painting, upholstering furniture to perfection, and was an avid reader and designer of our clothing; making sure our one of a kind outfits were perfect. They were beautiful. She also made countless detailed Barbie doll clothes. Ila was also very knowledgeable about life, she had amazing insight, loved all animals and wildlife, and appreciated everything life had to offer. We all still relied on her advice for many things. She lived during the Depression Era and did not believe in wasting anything. Up until her passing, she was very influential in all our lives. She enjoyed her endless conversations with her adored grandson, Abe. She loved watching birds at her bird feeder and was looking forward to her hummingbirds coming soon. She also liked to mow her grass up until she was 90 years young.

We are very saddened by her death but thankful she is no longer in pain and now with her loved ones and Jesus in Heaven. She will be missed terribly and forever, she was absolutely the best mom to us and Nana to Abe. We were all very blessed to have her as a Mom and Nana. She loved us all and was a cool person.

Ila is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Abrassart and Dr. Renee Abrassart-Ramsey; and grandson, Abraham Ramsey. She is preceded in death by her son, Bradley L. Abrassart; and husband, Elmer L. Abrassart.

A private burial will be held at a later date. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Ilarose.
