Ima Donie

Ima "Doris" Donie, 87, passed away at 11:50 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Bridge Pointe Health Campus. Doris was born on January 22, 1924 in Valier, IL the daughter of Irvin Glen and Mary Lois (Mackey) Gulley. She married Pete Donie on March 14, 1954 and he preceded her in death on April 24, 1998Doris retired as a Bookkeeper with Peach Tucker C.P.A. and also managed Marones Restaurant. She also was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a very active member. Doris was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Survivors include her daughter, Catherine Donie of Lowell, N.C., 2 grandchildren; Holly Nora, John Slone and 4 great grandchildren, Chandler Slone, McKenzie Nora, Ashton Slone and Alexandra Slone; brother Norman "Bud" Gulley of Danville, IN. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter, Mary Lynn Slone and 1 sister Glenda Griffith.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Clemens officiating and nephew Philip Gulley assisting. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
