Isaac Murphy

Isaac Murphy, 90, passed away at 7:45 pm on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Meadowview Nursing Home in Salem, IN. Isaac was born on September 12, 1931 and was the son of Francis and Violet (Newman) Murphy. He married the love of his life Linda Louise (Hamm) Murphy on July 22nd, 1952. She preceded him death on October 16, 2019. Isaac enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting Red Skelton paintings, traveling the world, and spending time with his family. As a veteran he took pride in contributing at the Indiana Military Museum and supported many efforts and projects, while volunteering his time giving tours. He was also a proud veteran and honorably discharged from the United States Army where he was a Corporal and received a purple heart from being wounded in combat. Survivors include his adoring daughter, Terri Lynn Louise Medock and husband Larry; brother, Louis Alvin Murphy; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Isaac in death is his wife, Linda Louise (Hamm) Murphy; sons, Michael Anthony Murphy and Randall Steven Murphy; daughter, Kathy Jenene (Murphy) Adams; parents, Francis and Violet (Newman) Murphy; brother, Henry Maurice Murphy; and sisters, Anna Jane (Murphy) Twitty, Violet Delia Murphy, Jewel Newman Murphy, Mildred Ruth Murphy, and Marie Francis (Murphy) Deppe. Visitation will be held on September 14, 2022 at noon with service at 2:00 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway Street, Vincennes, IN 47591. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following the service.
