Jack Hartzburg

Jack L. Hartzburg, 74, of Oaktown, passed away at 9:37 am on March 31, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Jack was born on November 7, 1939 in Knox County the son of Walter and Dorothy (Walker) Hartzburg. He married Emma Sutton on January 20, 1961 and she survives.Jack served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, and worked as a rigger at Texaco Refinery. He was a member of the American Legion; and loved race cars, especially sprint car racing. Jack loved animals and took in several stray pets over the years. He was willing to help anyone in need and enjoyed riding on his son's razor side by side.Survivors include his wife, Emma Hartzburg of Oaktown; daughter, Deana Hartzburg of Oaktown, son, Donald Lee Hartzburg of Oaktown, and one sister, Beverly McKain of Carlisle. Jack was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Jack will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with the Rev. Jeff Crowe officiating.
