Jack Kerns

Jack L. Kerns, 74, of Bicknell, IN, passed away June 14, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospital.A 1959 graduate of Freelandville High School, Jack was a farmer, and also worked at Hamilton Glass and Perdue Farms.He enjoyed collecting John Deere items, playing solitaire, gardening, and woodworking. Watching American Pickers and Antiques Roadshow were favorite activities, along with going to auctions. Jack was a member of the Antique Tractor Association, Bruceville Volunteer Fire Dept., and the Knox County Coonhunter Club.Born July 1, 1940, in Decker Chapel, IN, he was the son of George and Ruby (Blair) Kerns. They preceded him, along with three sisters, one brother, and two grandchildren, Katy Segovia and Andrew "AJ" Johnson.Surviving is his wife, Brenda (Orr) Kerns, whom he married Oct. 10, 1961; children, Sherryl Chamberlin and her husband, Floyd, of Vincennes, Karen Grannan and her husband, Steve, of Washington, IN, Pam Burton and her husband, Tom, of Vincennes, Sandy Merry and her husband, Kevin, of Sandborn, IN, Jill Clark and her husband, Gerald, of Oaktown, IN, and Steven Kerns of Vincennes; ten grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, five great-grandchldren, and six step-great-grandchildren, whom he enjoyed watching grow up.The funeral will be held at 12:00, on Wednesday, at Goodwin Funeral Home.
