James N. Abel, 80, of 222 South 22nd, Vincennes, passed away at 12:40 p.m. February 27. 2014 at The Lodge of the Wabash.He was born February 12, 1933 in Knox County to Willard and Martha (Garder) Abel.James retired from Johnson Controls and enjoyed old cars, hunting, and fishing.Surviving is his wife, Barbara (Lucas) Abel; his children, Harold (Terri) Abel of Vincennes, Doris (William) Dillard of Evansville, and April (Jeff) Brewington of Florida; his grandchildren, Justin Abel, Daniel Abel, Aaron Dorney, Toshua Christenberry, Spring Evans, Robert Evans, Paul R. Allen, Brandon Allen, Ashley Utt, Taven Utt, John Utt, Peyton Riggle, Trenton Riggle, Evan Riggle, and Joshua Barmes; and his step great grandchildren, Brilee and Aaliyah Abel, Zachary Dorney, Wesley Patton, Emily Jo Stacey and Isaac Patton.Preceding him were his parents; a son, James Bradley Abel; a sister' Cheryl Abel Barmes; and his brothers and sisters, Margaret Brown, Henry Abel, Cathy Abel, George Stone, and Barbara Stone. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-8 Monday at the funeral home.
