James Gillespe Adams, 92, of Munster, Indiana, formerly of Monroe City, passed away on May 25, 2016.James was a veteran Army Sergeant serving in World War II and Korea, His medals include: American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater with three Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal of World War II, and The Army of Occupation Medal in Japan during the Korean War.Survivors include his son Ronald; daughter - in - law Janet (Sanders); a grandson, Jason (Erin) Adams and their daughter Lilly; a granddaughter Jenna (Bjorn Svinis) and their son Oden; one brother, Berl (Imogene); two sisters - in - laws, Mary and Louise; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Clara M. (Adams) Adams; his wife Virginia Shipman Adms; his son, James W. Adams; three brothers, William, Ulysses, and Carroll; and four sisters, Dorothy Parker, AnnaLee Thompson, Ruth Pankake, and Gertrude Woods.Visitation will be on May 28th, 2016 from 10:00 am until the service at 11:00 am at Goodwin Funeral Home with a military service to follow at the gravesite at Reel Chapel Cemetery.
