James A. Byrns, 92, of Princeton, IN passed away at home surrounding by his family and friends. He was born April 28, 1929 in Owensville, IN to the late Larkin Lloyd Byrns and Frances (Waddle) Byrns. Jim raised pigs and worked in the oil field at a young age with his family. He was drafted the US Army in 1951 and honorably served his country. Jim married the love of his life, Ruth Ann, on December 28, 1954. They were blessed with 67 years of marriage. He worked in construction and as a carpenter for many years. Jim enjoyed hunting during his younger years. He vacationed the USA and Canada with Ruth during off season of farming. Jim was a member of the Odd Fellows, the Union Carpenters, and lifelong member of VFW. He was loved and will be missed by so many. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Nadine Taylor, Lloyd Byrns Jr., and Melba Slunder; and brother-in-law Carroll Davis. Jim is survived by his wife Ruth Ann Byrns, children Roy (Janice) Byrns, Reba (Craig Kirby) Byrns-Kirby, Orville (Stacey Fitzgerald) Byrns, and Lee (Mary Jo Woehler) Byrns; grandchildren Jennifer Vosburg, Brian French, Rebecca Rutledge, Rachel Mizeur, and Justin Byrns; 2 great grandchildren; sister Rosie Davis, and extended son Tom White. Holder's Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Byrns. Visitation will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 from 9a-12p at Holder's Funeral Home. Funeral will be held Friday at 12pm with Pastor Jerad Henry officiating. Burial will be held at Maumee Cemetery with military honors.
