James "Jim" Stephen Collins, 73, of 8040 W 200 S Lyons, Indiana, passed away at 10:30 am Friday January 1, 2016 at his residence.He was born January 29, 1942 in East Chicago, Indiana to Warren and Leona (McLin) Collins.James farmed in Knox County his entire life and was a Quartermaster in the Army during the Vietnam War. A 1962 graduate of Fritchton High School, he belonged to the Indiana Presbyterian Church and the American Legion in Linton.Surviving is his wife, Dixie (Christenberry) Collins; his brothers and sister, Richard (Theresa) Collins of Overland Park, Kansas, Joe (Mary) Collins of Owensville, and Joyce Theriac of Vincennes; and several nieces and nephews.Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Kenneth Collins; his brother in-laws, Warren Theriac and Ralph Goldman; his father in-law and mother in-law, Foster Christenberry and Maysel Wade; and his niece, Allyson Theriac.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday January 5, 2016 at the Indiana Presbyterian Church with Rev. Larry Langer officiating. Burial will follow in the Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Monday at Goodwin Funeral Home and from 10:00 am until the service on Tuesday at the church.Memorial contributions may be made to the Lyons Food Bank or the Lord's Warehouse.
