Jamie Cox, 19, passed away at 11:32 am on March 5, 2015 at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, In. Jamie was born on February 21, 1996 in Antwerp, Belgium the son of Sandra Russell Cox and James L. Cox Jr.Jamie was a student at Lincoln High School and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He loved music, Buzz Light Year, leaves and he especially loved his mother and sister.Survivors include his mother, Sandy Russell Cox of Vincennes, father, James L. Cox Jr. sister, Jessica Cox and her fiance Jacob Bosecker of Vincennes, paternal grandparents, Peggy and Jim Cox of Las Vegas, NV; maternal step grandfather, John E. Welch of Iuka, MS; Aunt Linda Guertler and her husband Pat Hanley of Mexico, MO; Uncle Larry Russell and his wife Toni of Chicago, IL; cousins, Carrie Dalton, Rich Lucas, Shawneen Russell, Leonard Russell, Tom Guertler, Kelli Guertler Mareci; Great Aunt Carolyn Ridge and her husband Francis of Mt. Vernon, IN, and Great Aunt Florence Sanneman of Georgia. Jamie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Leonard W. Russell and Anna Walls Russell Welch; maternal great grandparents,Anna and Ora Walls, Aunt Connie Lucas, Great Aunt Mabel Welch, Great Uncles Fred, Bob, Bill and Danny Ray Walls. Jamie's family would like to thank Melanie Theriac, Esther Collard, Jenny Treadway, Robin Chaplin, Trisha Purcell, Janet Davis and Sue Rogers for the years of loving nursing care they provided to Jamie as well as Rosie Rayburn, Sabrina King and Steve Combs at Lincoln High School for all of care they provided to Jamie as well. Also a very special thanks to Senator Lindel Hume, Riley Children's Hospital, Williams Brothers, S.M.I.L.E. Down Syndrome Group in Evansville, Pediatric Specialty, and Pike County ARC, D and S Ambulance Service, especially David Franklin and Knox County EMS.Funeral services for Jamie will take place at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Pastor Debbie Salters officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with Jamie's family on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
