James Graham

James D. "Gunny" Graham, 71, of Vincennes, IN went to his heavenly home on May 28, 2023. He was born in Blue Island, IL on October 30, 1951, to the late Harold Graham and Mary Alice Lurch. Gunny worked as a truck driver transporting grain for many years. He was a member of the First Church of God. Gunny served as Chaplin for Rolling Thunder and the Veteran's Memorial of America. Gunny proudly served his country both in the Marines and the Army during the Vietnam war. This is where he received his nickname "Gunny" for being a Gunnery Sergeant. In his free time he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, talking on the CB radio, deer hunting, fishing, and spending time with his great-grandchildren. Gunny was known for always talking to people and many would say he never knew a stranger. He will be deeply missed by all. Gunny was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law David Cary; and several siblings. He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Bridget (Todd) Graham; ex-wife of 36 years Debra Maynard; children Carla (Michael) Devine, Daniel Graham, Brian Graham; grandchildren Holly (Jeremy) Zacek, Johnathan Devine, Stephanie Devine, Justin Graham, Marshall Ramsey, Brian Schroeder; great-grandchildren James and Jordyn Zacek, Grayson Jackson; siblings Joyce (Patrick) McCarthy, Ana Cary, Sharon Weekley, Juanita Mooney; and many nieces and nephews. Goodwin-Sievers is honored and entrusted with the care of Mr. Graham. Visitation will be held Monday, June 5,2023, at 524 Broadway St. from 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 524 Broadway St. at 10am with burial at Memorial Park immediately following. Memorial Donations can be made to the National Vet Memorial c/o Vietnam Wall in Mr. Graham's honor.
