James Kerns

James C. Kerns, Sr. 78, passed away at 6:00 am on December 9, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Jim was born on March 23, 1944, in Vincennes and is the son of James E. and Esther (Atkinson) Kerns. Jim was a farmer and loved horses, his cattle, his dogs, and anything when it came to animals. Some of Jim's other interests include going to tractor pulls, antique farm machinery, and homemade ice cream. Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly Downen of Monroe City, IN; his son, James C. Kerns, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Vincennes, IN; his grandchildren, Jeremy Hollis and his wife Ashley, J.D. Hollis and Cody Akers, Kristen Jones and her husband Alex, Racheal Kerns and Xavier Burns, Jacob Kerns; and his great grandchildren, Jillian and Paxton Hollis, and Brynn Jones. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Esther Kerns, his grandsons, Sam Downen, Kirk A. Tyler II, and his son-in-law, Brian Downen. Graveside services for Jim will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Trevor Murry officiating and Jim's friends and family are invited to attend.
