James Paul Mallett

December 21, 1954 — June 17, 2024

James Mallett, 69, peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on June 17, 2024. He was born on December 21, 1954 and was the son of Hubert and Agnes (Ryan) Mallett. He was the proud father to Jennifer, Lance, Ryan, and Aaron.


Throughout his life, James was a masonry and his dedication and hard work made him a respected figure in his profession, known for his craftsmanship and reliability. James worked in several states and a proud accomplishment was helping build a military base in Kandahar, Afghanistan. James was a devoted member of the Heritage Society, Folio Society, NRA, Gun Owners of America, Judicial Watch, and the American Legion. Most importantly, he loved his family dearly and enjoyed the time he spent with them.


James Paul Mallett will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues as a loyal and patriotic individual who cherished his community. He leaves behind a legacy of service and dedication to his country and loved ones as he proudly served our country as part of the United States Army.


James is survived by his children, Jennifer (Mallett) Edgell, Lance Mallett (Heather), Ryan Mallett (Crystal); siblings, Rhonda Russel and Bill (William) Lipton; grandchildren, Austin Heckathorn, Ashley Farmer, Cameron Heckathorn, Victoria Harmon, Jasmine Buckels, Whitney Mallett,Vanessa Mallett, Canden Mallett, and MaKenna Mallett; nieces and nephews, Truce Arnold, Blair Hawkins, Shawn Hawkins, and Heather Pummell. James is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Agnes; son, Aaron Mallett; and siblings, Patty Evans and Bob Mallett.


Visitation will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin after visitation at 12:00 pm with Pastor Kevin Benton officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of James.
