James "Jim" H. Petts, Evansville, IN, passed away on April 21, 2011 with his family by his side at home, after a long battle with corticobasal degeneration. Jim was born in Vincennes, IN, on December 21, 1943.He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Angie; five children, son, Lon Petts and his wife, Tiffany of Vincennes, daughter, Stacey Ruggles and her husband, Ryan of Vincennes, son, Jared Petts of Scott Air Force Base, and step-sons, Corey Adams of Indianapolis and Justin Adams of Terre Haute. He was the grandfather to seven grandchildren, Tad and Nolan Petts, Brayton and Brody Ruggles, Alyssa Adams, and Braylin and Alexis Adams. Also surviving are his sisters, Phyllis Gray of Washington, Jeanne Bailey and her husband, Don of Palestine and brother, Dave Petts and his wife Vicky of Avon, along with several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Gertrude Petts; brother, Robert Petts and great-nephew, Collin Petts.Jim's love of cooking will be a cherished memory along with his loyalty to the Colts. His love of the outdoors led him to outdoor wildlife photography and boating.The family would personally like to thank all the staff at Heritage Hospice who cared for Jim and his family.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Hospice, 1202 W. Buena Vista, Suite 107, Evansville, IN 47710, in memory of Jim.Also, "thank you" to Jim's special caregivers, Andrea, Karen and Carrie. There will be no services. Goodwin Funeral Home is handling arrangements.The family invites all to a celebration of life , for Jim, at the Country Club of Old Vincennes on Saturday, April 30, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., 2715 Washington Ave., Vincennes.
