James "Jimmy" S. Roberson, 63, of Carlisle, IN passed away March 19, 2023. He was born in Kileen, TX on September 24, 1959, to the late Alan and Donna (Miller) Roberson. Jimmy graduated from South Knox High School in 1977. He married, his high school sweetheart, Millie Travis on August 4, 1979. Jimmy worked for many years as a farmer and logger. He also worked at the Carlisle Veener Plant and helped build Duke Energy Plant with local 841. Jimmy was truly a jack of all trades. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, going to Kathy Jo's Chatterbox and the Carlisle Plaza, deer hunting, watching his grandchildren's sports activities, playing guitar, playing PIG, and farming. One of his favorite hobbies was wood working and creating Adirondak chairs. Jimmy was a true family man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jimmy is survived by his wife, of 43 years, Millie Roberson; children Jacqueline (Michael Racey) Roberson and James (Jayden) Roberson; grandchildren Parker Racey, Jayden Racey, Brady Racey, Caylee Roberson, Jesse Roberson, Jayna Roberson, and expecting baby Josie Roberson in August; and brother Roger (Lynn) Roberson. Goodwin-Sievers is honored and entrusted with the care of Mr. Roberson. Visitation will be held Monday, March 27, 2023 at 524 Broadway St. from 3-7pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 11am with burial at Wheatland Cemetery immediately following. Memorial donations can be made to the Travis Burkhart Foundation or American Kidney Association in Jimmy's honor. The family also wishes to give special thanks to the caring staff at DaVita of Vincennes and Karen Wright.
