James Welch

James C. Welch Sr., 77, of Owensville, IN. went to be with the Lord May 15, 2021. He was born October 19, 1943 in Corydon, KY. to the late Monty and Goldie Welch. Jim attended and graduated from Bosse High School in 1960. He retired from Whirlpool after 40+ years of service. Jim was a member of the Local 808. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in St. Croix, watching the Colts play football, working on street rods, and watching Nascar. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; fianc Melody House; siblings Audrey Madden and Gary Welch; grandchildren infant Randy and Matt; and great grandchild Keyah. He is survived by his children James (Darlene) Welch Jr., Gary (Kate Greathouse) Welch, Shelley Strode, Sandy Simmons, and Robbin (Wayne) Weber; grandchildren Rene, DJ, Joey, Christopher, Amber, Kimberly, and Cody; 5 great grandchildren; and siblings Candy Medlen and Jerry Welch. Holder's Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Welch. Visitation will be held at Holders Funeral Home from 10a-1p on May 18, 2021. Funeral will be 1pm with Randy Bechtel officiating and burial at Owensville Cemetery. All those who wish to honor and remember Jim in person at the service is required to wear a mask for the safety of all those in attendance. Social distancing will be enforced.
