James Winstead

James Oscar Winstead, 95, of Owensville, IN passed away March 20, 2022. He was born July 22, 1926 in Webster County Kentucky to the late Strother and Edna (Adamson) Winstead. James served his country in WWII for the US Army. He married Violet (Brown) September 1947 after returning home from his service. They were blessed with two children, James and Seven. James and Violet were married for 54 years before her passing in 2001. He worked as a supervisor for Whirlpool for 37 years before retiring. James married Patricia (Fine) Winstead November 9, 2002 and was blessed with 19 years before his passing. He enjoyed redoing furniture and tinkering in his garage. James raised coon dogs and loved coon hunting. He ran dogs until he was 85 years old, when his Annie passed away. James was loved deeply and will be missed by so many. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Violet; siblings William T. Winstead, Robert Winstead, and Joyce Mann; and daughter in law Helen Winstead. James is survived by his wife Patricia; children James G. Winstead and Steven (Peggy) Winstead; step-children Christopher Minnis, Stephen (LaDonna) Minnis, and Andrea (Tim) Short; grandchildren Dave, Brent, Derek, Aaron, Keenan, McKenzi, Nathaniel, Kieffer, Alec, Lillian, Brad, and Mike; great grandchild Nathan, Aaron, Lyric, Brooklyn, Grayson, Adalyn, Kayden, Bryce, Madyson, Rylinn, Noah, and Nathalea; and great-great grandchildren Lila and Zoey. Holder's Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Winstead. Visitation will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 from 11a-1p at Holder's Funeral Home. Funeral will be held Friday at 1pm with Pastor Bob Douglas officiating. Burial will be held at Owensville Cemetery with military honors.
