Jan Utt

Pastor Jan L. Utt, 76, of Vincennes, went to be with the Lord at 3:43 pm Friday May 15, 2015 at BridgePointe Health Campus.She was born December 7, 1938 in Knox County to Dexter and Leona (Pea) Hawkins.Jan served as a Lay Minister for the Presbyterian Church serving at the Monroe City, Royal Oak, and Upper Indiana. Jan served on several committees at Palmyra Presbyterian Church over the years and served as youth director there for many years as well.She was the founder and director of the Lord's Warehouse where she spent a lot of her time as it was a mission of the Monroe City Presbyterian Church where she worked with great joy to serve others in the name of Jesus. She would always say, "We will help all who walk through the door and turn no one away." She will be truly missed.She enjoyed reading and taking care of her grandchildren.Surviving are her children, Jerry (Terri) Utt, Tim (Nancy) Utt , and Tammy (Mark) Bosecker of Vincennes; her brothers and sisters, Bill Hawkins of Texas, Dexter Hawkins of Florida, and Mariella Hatton of Spencer; her grandchildren, J.R. Utt, Lori Beth Brown, Sara Abel, Toni Utt, Timmy Utt, Kristen Dimmett, and April Smith; her great grandchildren, Lillie Smith, Isabelle Smith, Ethan Abel, Kenzie Abel, Levi Brown, Tyler Brown, Kennedy Utt, and Kendall Utt.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James L. Utt, whom preceded her on December 30, 2011.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Upper Indiana Presbyterian Cemetery.
