Janet "Jan" Yarber

Janet "Jan" Yarber, 83, of Vincennes, IN passed away March 16, 2025. She was born in Vincennes, IN on March 31, 1941, to the late Ernest J. and Helen J. (Casper) Vieke. Jan graduated from Saint Rose Academy in 1959. She married the love of her life, Larry Yarber Sr., on December 30, 1961. She worked for many years at the L. Fay Hedden Abstract Office as a clerk. She also drove a school bus for the Vincennes Community School Corporation until she and Larry retired in 2002. Jan also was the bookkeeper for her family farm E&H Vieke Inc. for many years. She was a proud member of the Old Cathedral Church.

In her free time Jan enjoyed working in her yard, playing euchre with her family, attending her kids and grandchildren sporting events, cooking, watching hummingbirds, shopping at yard sales, and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Helen Vieke; husband Larry Yarber Sr.; granddaughter Chloe Yarber; siblings Don Vieke, Bill (Camille) Vieke and Bob Vieke.

She is survived by her children Larry Yarber Jr. and Jason (Alissa) Yarber; stepson Richard Yarber; grandchildren Dannielle Yarber, Dylan Yarber, Jarrett Yarber, Lodan Yarber, Kodee Yarber; step-grandchildren Steven (Nichole) Ross, Rick Yarber, Bryan Yarber; several great grandchildren; siblings Ron (Judy) Vieke, John (Cherie) Vieke, Helen (Steve) Stiles, Sharon (Dave) Carie, Pat (Bill) Ragsdale; sisters in law Dot Vieke and Barbara Yarber. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care or Mrs. Yarber. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held March 31, 2025, at 11 am in Old Cathedral Church to honor Jan and celebrate her 84th birthday.
