Janie

Myra Jane Vaughn, a beloved mother, grandmother, and dedicated beautician, passed away on March 27, 2024, in Vincennes, Indiana. Born on April 23, 1968, in Vincennes, Indiana, Myra touched the lives of many through her work and her loving presence.

Throughout her 20-year career as a beautician, Janie not only excelled in her craft but also built enduring relationships with her clients, whom she cherished dearly. Her passion for her work was evident in the care and attention she gave to each person who sat in her chair.

Janie found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often spending her free time watching her favorite shows like "Law and Order" and the "Chicago" series. Her warmth and kindness shone through in all her interactions, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She leaves behind her sons, Jacob Vaughn (Alexa) and Bryce (Ashley), who meant the world to her, as well as her seven beloved grandchildren, Tabitha Vaughn, Reese Vaughn, Alexandra Vaughn, Emrie Vaughn, Destiny Vaughn, Briar Vaughn, and L.J. Vaughn, whom she adored; sisters and brothers, Jeanette Johnson, Bill Davis (Brandy) and Tammy Davis (Earian). She is preceded in death by her son, Curtis Vaughn; brothers, Alan Davis and Brian Davis; and sister, Jeanette Swope.

A Celebration of Life to celebrate Janie's life will be held on April 13, 2024 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church's lounge, 1837 S Hart Street Rd, Vincennes, IN 47591 from 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and the impact she had on everyone around her. Burial will be private at a later date.

Myra Jane Vaughn will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Janie.
