Janie Mcgregor

Janie Marie (Rose) McGregor, 78, of 320 W. Chicago, passed away at 12:03 a.m. on January 20, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Janie was born in Vincennes, IN on August 23, 1933 the daughter of Charles Landon and Audie Ann (Roy) Rose. She married Shurl Maurice McGregor on August 18, 1952 and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1998.Janie was a homemaker and loved gardening, and was known to have a green thumb. She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn M. Taylor of Vincennes; Sharon Sue Moore and her husband Daniel of Vincennes; son, Shurl Van McGregor of Vincennes; 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 1 great- great granddaughter and one on the way. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Janie was preceded in death by her husband, sons, Ricky Lee and Leonard Maurice McGregor, 4 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 son in law, Jeffery H. Taylor.Friends may visit with the family from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main St. Private graveside services will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
