Jeffery Bilskie

Jeffery Alan Bilskie was born on February 23, 1958 to Leonard and Marilyn (Carrie) Bilskie, in Vincennes, IN. On Sunday, July 13, 2014, Jeff passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Jeff lived a full life in his 56 years on this earth. He was a hairdresser for over thirty-five years, and his clients quickly became his friends. Jeff never met a stranger and immediately put people at ease; his charm was wide-reaching, and his kindness was felt by all who knew him. Jeff always listened to his clients with an open mind and a positive outlook. It was a joy to sit in his chair and spend time with a man who genuinely cared about his clients and their lives. Even his youngest clients enjoyed their time with him as he treated them with all the respect that any adult would receive. Kids knew that Jeff was genuine and they appreciated his gentle demeanor and loud, friendly laugh. Jeff had an artistic eye and found great joy in decorating his home and shop. He also loved to be outside, surrounded by plants and flowers. Jeff loved to travel, and one of his favorite activities was lounging on the beach in Ft. Myers, Florida - surrounded by sun, sand, surf, and a few margaritas. Family was important to Jeff, and he loved his immensely. He was a devoted son, and he truly loved his folks and brothers. He was close with his aunts and uncles, and he considered his nieces and nephews as his own. Jeff adored and loved the family of his life partner, as well, and was deeply loved by them in return. He spent thirty years of his life with his soul mate and partner, Donnie Harris, and together they enjoyed a thriving business and many memories with their families and friends. Jeff will be missed for his kind and generous spirit, and his ability to bring happiness to those who knew him. He brought a beauty to this world that can't be measured or replicated, and he taught those around him about true kindness, joy, and courage. He was a true gentleman, and he had the inherent ability to bring out the best in others. Jeff leaves behind his parents, Leonard and Marilyn Bilskie; his partner, Donnie Harris; brothers, Jim (Tami) Bilskie of Bruceville, IN, Leonard (Barbara) Bilskie of Vincennes, and Larry Bilskie of Bruceville, IN; his aunts and uncles; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 on Wednesday, at Goodwin Funeral Home. A celebration of Jeff's life will be held on Thursday, at 11:00, at the funeral home.
