Jeril Clark, lovingly known as Jerry, passed away on September 22, 2023, at Deaconess Gateway Newburgh. He was born on October 20, 1943, in Yale, Illinois. Jerry was a caring and simple man whose love for his family defined his life.


Jerry graduated from Newton Community High School in the Class of 1961. After completing his education, he embarked on a successful career as a plumber. For many years, he owned his own business, Clark Plumbing, where he showcased his expertise and dedication to his craft. Later in life, he retired from Hacker Plumbing.


While Jerry had an illustrious career, it was his commitment to his family that truly brought him joy. He adored spending time with his grandchildren when they were young and cherished taking them fishing and attending their sporting events. His presence at these moments was a testament to his unwavering love and support.


Apart from being a devoted family man, Jerry had several hobbies and interests that brought him peace and satisfaction. He enjoyed tinkering in his work shed, where he could be found dedicating countless hours to various projects.


Jerry's proudest accomplishments extended beyond his professional success. He took great pride in owning his own business and being an active member of the Indiana and Illinois Plumbing Association.


Jerry is survived by Yvonna Clark, his loving wife of 59 years. Theirs was a partnership built on a deep foundation of love and mutual respect. Together they created a beautiful family.


Jerry's legacy lives on through their daughters Corinne Smith (Jeff) and Amy Kimberlin. He was also blessed with several adoring grandchildren: Allen McCoy (Kristin), Matthew McCoy (Adrianne), Codey McCoy, Kaity McCoy, Jeffrey Smith Jr., Bethany Lesinski (Chris); step-grandson Jordan Smith; great-grandchildren Baylie, Rowan, Mason, Quinn, Maveryck, Tripp, Rayleigh, Harper, Memphis, and Larzson McCoy and CJ Lesinski; and step-great-grandchild Brylee Smith.


He is also survived by his sisters Edna Fitzmaurice (Albert), and Donna Swick; brother-in-law Ron Granby (Debbie), sister-in-law Connie Hartleroad (Bill), sister-in-law Debbie Blake (Alden) sister-in-law Linda Fry, and sister-in-law Sherry Duncan; best friend Mark Wheeler; along with several nieces and nephews.


Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Nada (Field) Clark, granddaughter Chantal Kimberlin, great-grandson Wesley Jacob Thompson, siblings Dennis Clark and Bonnie Freeman, nephew Danny Freeman, and brothers-in-law Phil Freeman and Dave Swick.


In his journey through life, Jerry touched the hearts of many. His warm smile and kind demeanor brightened the lives of those around him. He will always be fondly remembered as a man who never met a stranger. Jerry's generosity knew no bounds, and he was always there for his family with unwavering love and support.


Jerry's memories will forever be cherished by his loved ones and the countless lives he impacted along the way. The world has lost a remarkable individual whose legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.


Friends may visit with Jerry’s family from 4:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, September 28, 2023, and from 10:00 am until the hour of service time of 11:00 am on Friday at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. Pastor Debbie Salters will officiate, and Jerry will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Clark family has requested memorial contributions be made to Thursday Church or South Knox High School Baseball.
