Jerry L. Burns, 83, of Vincennes, passed May 5, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Jerry was a retired minister, having served at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was in the US Army during the Korean War. Born July 8, 1932 in Ripley, TN, he was the son of Willie and Gracie (Anderson) Burns. They preceded him, as well as eight brothers and sisters. Surviving is his wife, Mattie (Peet) Burns of Milwaukee, WI; his children, Larry (Elaine) Burns of Evansville, IN, Mitzie Peet of Vincennes, Michael (Aurora) Burns of Highland, CA, Lillian (Aaron) Brawley of McCordsville, IN, Fay King of Milwaukee, WI, Debra Burns of Milwaukee, WI, David Burns of Atlanta, GA, and LaTonia Burns of Milwaukee, WI; a sister, Myrtle Bonds of Vincennes; thirteen grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:00 on Saturday , at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, with Rev. William Morris and Rev. Kenneth Morris officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 - 1:00 on Saturday, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
