Jerry Goodwin

Jerry L. Goodwin was born on July 15, 1934 in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Amos and Hallie (Myers) Goodwin. Jerry started his career at Flummerfelt Funeral Home and later purchased the business and renamed it Goodwin Family Funeral Home. He retired in 2006 and was proud to have his sons and grandson follow in his footsteps. Jerry was a proud graduate of Fritchton High School where he always said Eagles soar above all others, Vincennes University, and the Indiana Mortuary College. Jerry married Rae Carolyn Leech on June 25, 1955. He served on many boards, held many memberships during his business career, enjoyed driving his corvairs around the city, and served in the United States Army. On Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the age of 84 he passed away.Those surviving are his wife, Carolyn Goodwin; his children, David Goodwin and his wife Eileen of Vincennes, Elizabeth and her husband Dave Marcum of Cheyenne Wyoming, and Tim Goodwin and his wife Teri of Vincennes, four grandchildren, Ashley Goodwin, Andrea Brunacini and her husband Kevin, Meredith Murphy and her husband Sean, and Geoffrey Goodwin; 1 great grandchild, Mia Eileen Murphy; and his sister, Barbara Goodwin of Naples, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents.Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Fritchton Alumni Scholarship Fund through the funeral home. Private services will be held just for the family Thursday.
