Jerry Nightingale

Jerry R. Nightingale, 86, of Vincennes, IN passed away June 2, 2021, at the Lodge of the Wabash.Jerry served in the US Army in the motor pool, with the rank of sergeant. In the early 1960's, he worked at Blackford Window Glass and then Huffer Upholstery. Jerry did upholstery in his home, also. He worked as the service manager for Bryant Chevrolet, Wilson Motors, and retired from Albright Motor Company.He was a member of Southside Presbyterian Church. Jerry was involved in restoring the Hutton School, and its conversion to the Herbert L. Mahrenholz Community Center. He was the master storyteller of the family, and was always up for a road trip.Born January 20, 1935 in Vincennes, IN, he was the son of Richard and Hazel (Williams) Nightingale. His parents; his brothers, Eugene and James Nightingale; and his sisters, Marjorie Land, Mary Nunley, and Lois Doll, preceded him.Surviving is his wife, Linda (Mahrenholz) Nightingale, whom he married April 17, 1980; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.Friends may visit with Jerry's family from 4:00 - 7:00 on Thursday, at the Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main Street, Vincennes, IN. The funeral will be held at 1:00 on Friday, at the funeral home.
