Jerry Risley

Jerry L. Risley, 77, passed away at 11:05 pm on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at his residence with his family by his side. Jerry was born on January 11, 1937 in Oaktown the son of Raymond F. and Josephine (Greenwell) Risley. He married Sharon Purcell on December 8, 1962 and she survives.Jerry served his country in the US Army from 1960-1962 and served in Korea for eleven months. Jerry was in the trucking industry for over fifty years. He was a member of the 40 et 8, VFW and the American Legion.Survivors include his wife, Sharon Risley of Vincennes; one daughter Kimberly Meade and her husband Jerry of Evansville; two sons, Brian Risley and his wife Shelly of Vincennes and Jerry Risley, Jr. "Bunk" and wife Mari of Vincennes. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceding Jerry in death are one son, Curt, his mother and father, three sisters and four brothers.Funeral services for Jerry will take place at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Pastor Dan Gilley officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Jerry's family from 4-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
