Jerry Wallace

Jerry R. Wallace, Sr., 77, of Vincennes, IN, passed away at the home of his daughter, in Petersburg, IN, on April 29, 2018.Jerry worked at the Brown Shoe Factory, and then became the manager of the Vincennes University Bowling Lanes. He worked as an accountant for Custom Farm Services, McCormick Insurance, and then McCormick Trucking. The treasurer for the Followers of Christ Church in Carlisle, IN, he also prepared tax returns. He was a member of the Followers of Christ Church.Born January 17, 1941, in Vincennes, IN, he was the son of Ralph Homer and Betsy Fay (Gerkin) Wallace. His parents; his wife, Carolyn Sue (Reel) Wallace; a brother-in-law, Leon Althoff; a half-brother, Dallas Wallace; and a brother, Jack Wallace, preceded.Surviving are his children, Angie Houchins and her husband, Allan, of Petersburg, IN, Ruthie Jeanine AbuGosh and her husband, Yosef, of Saudi Arabia, and Jerry Wallace, Jr. of Vincennes, IN; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Wallace; sisters, Pat Althoff of Vincennes, IN and Mary LeCocq and her husband, Steve, of Vincennes, IN; grandchildren, Kayla Bennett, Sammy AbuGosh, Sarah Elijil and her husband, Haytham, Ahmad Yate and her husband, Rukaya, Hiba Hasan and her husband, Mazen, Samira Ahmad and her husband, Murad, Mohammad AbuGosh, Hamzah AbuGosh, and Husni AbuGosh; an adopted granddaughter, Mikayla Frisz; and his great-grandchildren, Noor Elijil, Layana Elijil, Ibrahim Elijil, and Sophia Yate.Friends may visit with Jerry's family from 10:00 - 12:00 on Thursday, at the Ridgecrest Baptist Church. The funeral will begin at 12:00 at the church, and burial will follow at Hamline Chapel Cemetery.
